A New Life in Asia

It was 2013 in Asia, and Rasmita was just four or five years old when we first met her. She was a street worker whose days were spent working the busy capital city streets until she had earned the equivalent of $2 USD per day.
Each morning as she ventured out of the slums and onto the busy streets, she would tell us that she had to “go to work.” There were times that she would disappear for months on end, only to reappear on the streets or in the slums that she called home. Oftentimes, we would find her injured. Sometimes from being stuck by a passing vehicle and sometimes by her own mother.
Rasmita was never allowed to attend school and was also responsible for caring for several of her younger siblings after the family was abandoned by their father. To say that Rasmita’s life seemed hopeless would be an understatement.
Fast forward ten years, and that same little girl is now a beautiful young teenager who will be entering eighth grade in just a few weeks. God used Seeds of Grace Children’s Homes to intervene in her life, and she has never been the same.
Today, Rasmita is off the streets and in a loving home where she gets to experience the childhood she never had a chance to live in her prior life. Rasmita’s hard work allowed her to get caught up in her studies, and she is a joy to all that know her. There is a now a light that shines deep within her that only God could light, and we know that her brightest days are still to come.
